Cleanup by the Nepalese Community in Canada’s Sagarmatha Park
Toronto. The Nepalese community in Brampton, Canada, organized a cleanup event today at Sagarmatha Park. The event was a joint effort by the Bramsaga United Club and the Canada Nepal Journalists Association(CNJA). Last year, the Brampton municipality renamed the park to honor the Nepalese community and entrusted its upkeep to them. The Nepalese Canadian National Council (NCNC), the oldest organization of the Nepalese community in Canada, has taken on the responsibility of maintaining the park.
The cleanup was led by Chet Bikram Shahi, the president of Bramsaga United Club. Birendra Poudel, a social activist focused on cleanliness, shared that the Brampton municipality provided all necessary materials for the cleanup effort. The event was organized in collaboration with Roshan KC, the club’s general secretary. Established three years ago, Bramsaga United Club has been actively organizing cleanup and sports events annually.
